FACADE REFURBISHMENT OF NO. 1 ZARAGOZA STREET IN ALICANTE.
Refurbishment and repair of the facade for the Community of Owners of no. 1 Zaragoza street in Alicante.
THE JOB
This job consisted of the structural repair of the forged edges of the building’s balconies. These slab edges presented with damage in the form of cracks and chips, which could have resulted in debris falling on the footpaths of both Zaragoza street and Rambla de Mendez Núñez, one of the busiest streets in the city.

This risk of detachment is what prompted the Community of Owners to repair the damage. They then decided to take advantage of the situation and also carry out a general refurbishment of the entire facade of the building.
The repair of the forged edges consisted of chipping and removing all material which was in poor condition, right down to the reinforcements of the structure. Their condition was inspected and any rust was treated by applying passivants and by bonding old and new materials. Finally the original shape of the structural components was reconstructed using special repair mortar.
On the rest of the facade, work involved sanding areas which were in poor condition, repairing and patching chips and finally painting the entire facade.
In taking advantage of the works, the Community of Owners also undertook to repair and maintain the general facade of the building. This included renewing the waterproofing of the roof by placing a self-protected waterproof sheet.
JOB COMPLETE
This job has been carried out as instructed. The cracks have been repaired, and the walls and railings have been painted. All of this work satisfies the requirements of Management and the Community of Owners.
