REPAIR AND REFURBISHMENT OF MIRACONCHA BUILDING FACADE IN BENIDORM – ALICANTE.

This job was commissioned by the Community of Owners of the MIRACONCHA residence in the municipality of Benidorm in the province of Alicante.

The works consisted of repairing and refurbishing parts of the facade due to deterioration typical of ageing and lack of maintenance of the building walls.

The work on the facade consisted of repairing the cracks and fissures that appeared at the end of the facade, which had been the result of bad work in the first place and age. The repair involved removing the damaged surround and replacing the slab fronts, and renewing cladding on the surround. It must be stressed that the great height of the facade called for the use of scaffolding that wrapped right around the building.

Special attention must be given to the fact that the repair works had the special requirement that the original features of the residence’s architecture be preserved. This was achieved by combining new materials with traditional materials to preserve the character of the architectural ensemble. New and advanced materials were used to repair the reinforced concrete structure, parts and reinforcements, and traditional cladding was used to give the building back its original finish.

Another thing to highlight is the use of the different support systems for different operators in various work areas. These included European-type tubular scaffolding, rack-type or mast-type scaffolding and even vertical work with operators being taken down from the deck by ropes.
