Refurbishment of La Jirafa Residential Building – Alicante

This job consisted of the refurbishment, reinforcement and repair of the structure of the “La Jirafa” building on Albufereta beach in Alicante. The job was commissioned by the building’s Community of Owners.

In addition to the refurbishment work, which entailed the reinforcement and repair of the structure, the job also included the reform and restoration of the walls, wet rooms and all other rooms and finishes affected by the repair and structural reinforcement works.

The work was carried out in each dwelling one by one in order to minimise its impact on and inconvenience for the residents of each dwelling.

The job was completed by restoring each home to its original state for the owner or resident. Prior to the demolition work to uncover the structure of the building, furniture and fixings had to be removed from the job site. Then, a meticulous intervention was performed on the structure of each dwelling by removing affected cladding until the structure was exposed and performing optimal work for each particular dwelling.

The repairs to the structure were made by means of a new structural reinforcement system with beams specially designed to fit these types of repairs and reinforcements.

Once the repair of the structure had been carried out, the dwellings were renovated and refurbished by replacing the cladding, ceramic tiles, paintings, false ceilings, and in some cases new toilets and kitchen furniture depending on the state and extent of the work required in each home.
