07 Jul FACADE REFURBISHMENT ON GANDIA STREET – ALICANTE
Job refurbishing and repairing a facade on Gandía street in Alicante.
This job involved the refurbishment and repair of the facade of a building on Gandía street in Alicante. This was limited to damage to the floor slabs.
Job contracted out by Community of Owners in Alicante
The job was directly commissioned to our company Esclapes e Hijos S.L. by the Community of Owners, given our extensive experience with this type of work.
This building, whose facade stands between two other buildings, is composed of a ground floor and 4 upper floors, all of which are intended for use as housing.
This building is located in the Carmen neighbourhood of Alicante, a humble neighbourhood but one with great tradition in the city of Alicante.
This building is more than 40 years old. Destined as a working-class residence, the original quality of construction was mediocre at best and the property came without many luxuries.
Damage over time
Over time the building has begun to show its age, mainly due to the poor quality of the initial construction process, materials and finishes, all of which were standard at the time of construction. Also, lack of proper maintenance through time has resulted in damage and erosion on the facade of the building.
This damage has occurred particularly on the edges of the floors of the balconies, as is clear to see in the photo report.
The job was to knock away any damaged sections until the structural reinforcements were exposed, repair them, re-position all structural elements and finish with a final coating.
Esclapes e Hijos, refurbishment specialists
Esclapes e Hijos, as a leading construction company in the construction industry and specialising in the refurbishment and repair of structures, was appointed by the Community of Owners as the contractor for this job.
